Introducing your puppy to a Leash
When introducing your puppy to a leash it's important to make it a positive experience! Bring your patience and lots of treats!!
Getting your puppy to walk on a leash will not happen instantly, be consistent and have fun. We send our puppies home with a Martingale Collar and leash. These collars slip easily over their head to go on, but they do tighten if your dog pulls so that they cannot slip out. This is a great safety precaution, you do not want your puppy to get off leash and into harms way.
Do not plan to start day 1 with a walk! Get puppy use to putting on and taking off the collar. Then practice leading them around in your home or yard. As they get a better understanding of what is happening, then you can venture off on short walks to get more practice. Be positive and give lots of treats to those learning puppies!
