Echo & Charlie Puppies
Echo & Charlie had their litter of puppies on February 13th! They shocked us all with only one pup! A litter of one makes him a 'singleton' puppy. Having a singleton is rare, but it does happen. We have had only one other litter this size here at Bedrock. Last time, we were lucky enough to have another litter that was born only a couple days prior and that singleton was able to be raised with his 'cousins' and their mama.
Since this is currently our only litter, he doesn't have any other pups his size or age to grow up with. We are making sure that he gets lots of interaction with the people caring for him and a few trusted older dogs, including his Mama Echo. We are using stuffed toys to emulate siblings for him to climb over and around and also to use as a little competition while nursing to encourage him to switch and hunt for a open spot to nurse.
He is currently 5 weeks old and doing great! He loves to eat, plays a lot, takes plenty of naps and loves all the attention that he gets!
