So....... what IS a Labradoodle?

“What is a Labradoodle?”, you may be asking.........

Do you feel like you are learning a second language in reading about this wonderful breed?

Let me take a minute of your time to explain what you will need to know in choosing your future puppy~

F1 or First Generation is a labrador/poodle cross.  This makes an F1 1/2 Lab and 1/2 Poodle.  In this cross, the coat is quite inconsistent.    Some will be non-shedding and some will shed.  Some will have wavy, soft coats and some will have straighter, more wiry coats....like a Disney Dog!

It is important to remember, however, that the social, happy temperament in the F1 will be consistent in this wonderful lab/poodle mix.

F1B is an F1 labradoodle that has been bred back to a poodle to enhance the non-shedding, allergy friendly coat.   Generally, these coats are non-shedding with either a silky, fleece coat or a curlier, wool coat.  If they do shed, it is most likely light shedding.

The Multi-Generational Labradoodle is typically non-shedding or very low shedding. It is the crossing of F1, F1b or Multi-Gen to F1, F1b or Multi-Gen.  Both F1B and Multi-Gen Labradoodles have the low-to non-shedding coats that Labradoodles are known for.

We are fortunate to now be Oregon Multi-Gen Labradoodle Breeders and own Australian Mulit-Gen Labradoodles!  It has taken us years to get to the high quality dog that we now have.  These dogs have the most incredibly soft and silky coats that we have ever seen!
